Sutton in Ashfield was built for two industries — coal and textiles — and both left their mark on the housing, which in turn decides what a bathroom in this town can reasonably be.

Terraced. The dense Victorian and Edwardian streets near the town centre mostly have a bathroom added later over the rear outrigger — narrow, one external wall, small window facing a yard. The layout that works is a run of fitted furniture along the longer wall with the shower at the far end, using the length rather than fighting it.
Colliery-era estate housing. The large interwar and postwar stock built when the pits were working has proper square bathrooms upstairs, part of the original build and generally warmer. These take a separate bath and shower without difficulty, and they are the rooms where most of the full-refit enquiries come from.
Later private development. Regular rooms, straight walls, modern plumbing, often with an en-suite as well as a family bathroom. Straightforward to fit, and the rooms where wall-hung furniture and a walk-in shower look best.

Sutton in Ashfield has dense Victorian terracing built for the pits and the mills, extensive postwar estate housing, and later private development on the edges.
The estate housing offers the clearest improvement: a square upstairs bathroom, usually with a separate WC alongside, which combines into a room that takes a bath and a separate shower enclosure. In the terraces the gain is in re-planning the existing footprint rather than enlarging it.
Much of the older stock is solid brick rather than cavity. The external wall runs cold, and condensation appears before anything else fails.
Insulated backer board behind the tiling during the work is far cheaper than the same job retrofitted, and a tanking membrane at the tray junction and up the corners is what stops a slow leak going unnoticed for years.

Traditional: Chiltern and Brecon. Chiltern Hunter Green and Brecon Marine Blue suit the terraced bathrooms, where the light is poor and a pale unit tends to look tired within a year. Brecon Basalt Mist is the quieter option.
Modern: Levanto Graphite and Selter Slate at the darker end, Amaro White Gloss and Selter Lagoon Mist at the brighter, Pentland Shale between them. Bowland Blueberry and Bowland Seabreeze are the two people are most surprised by in person — they photograph flat and are not.

Two things worth knowing about the older housing here
Solid walls. Much of the pre-war stock in Sutton is solid brick rather than cavity, and bathrooms on an external solid wall run colder and show condensation sooner. It changes where you would put the shower and whether insulated board is worth including behind the tiling. Cheaper to decide at design stage than to revisit.
Ventilation. The rear-outrigger bathrooms are the hardest rooms in the house to ventilate. Without extraction ducted properly to the outside, moisture goes into the plaster and the paint lifts within a couple of winters, usually on the wall furthest from the window. An extractor vented into a loft void is not a solution, and we still find them.

Wall-hung, and what it needs behind it. Wall-hung furniture genuinely makes a small bathroom feel bigger, because the floor continues underneath it. It needs a frame fixed back to something structural — in a stud wall that means opening it up and adding noggins. Worth confirming that is in any quote you are comparing.
